Three original passages explore main idea, sequence, and inference. Each lesson includes a reading strategy, a discussion activity, and five questions with explanations. Keep the passage open while answering. This is an introductory unit, not a complete grade 3 curriculum.
Christian connection: words that build others up
After studying the main idea, sequence, or inference, discuss how a character's words and actions affect other people. Practice explaining your answer with evidence from the passage.
Optional Bible connection: Explore how kindness and thoughtful speech support friendship (Ephesians 4:32). Reading comprehension and evidence remain the academic objectives.
